Mitigating Antimicrobial Resistance: Optimizing Phage Therapy Protocols for Clinical Efficacy
Keywords:

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a critical challenge to global health, significantly complicating the management of infectious diseases. This study investigates the optimization of bacteriophage therapy as a viable alternative to traditional antibiotics. Employing a systematic approach, we assessed various phage types against multidrug-resistant bacterial strains in clinical isolates. Our findings reveal that specific phage formulations exhibit enhanced lytic activity, resulting in a substantial reduction in bacterial load and improved patient outcomes in an in vivo model. The results underscore the potential of phage therapy to address AMR, paving the way for its integration into clinical protocols. This research highlights the necessity for refined phage selection processes and therapeutic applications in combating resistant infections.
