Microfinance as a Tool for Economic Empowerment in Developing Nations

Abstract

Microfinance has been lauded as a powerful instrument for economic empowerment in developing countries. This article investigates the effectiveness of microfinance programs in alleviating poverty and promoting financial inclusion. Through case studies from Africa and Asia, the paper evaluates the social and economic impacts of microfinance initiatives. It also addresses potential pitfalls, such as over-indebtedness, and offers recommendations for enhancing the efficacy of these programs.
