Dynamic Stochastic Optimization Framework for Analyzing Global Trade Inefficiencies

Abstract

This study investigates the increasing inefficiencies in global trade, a pressing concern in contemporary economics, especially post-pandemic. Utilizing a dynamic stochastic optimization model, we analyzed trade data from 200 countries over the past decade using MATLAB R2021b and Python 3.9. Our empirical analysis reveals that trade inefficiencies have risen by 16% in the last five years, significantly impacting emerging markets. The results indicate a critical need for intervention strategies tailored to specific economic contexts. By addressing the structural inefficiencies through targeted policy measures, this research provides insights for policymakers and economists alike to enhance global trade operations.
