Public Transport Policy and Urban Mobility in South Africa

This study investigates the impact of public transport policy on urban mobility in South Africa. It evaluates how policy frameworks and infrastructure developments influence commuting patterns and accessibility. The research draws on data from urban transportation surveys, government reports, and interviews with policy makers and commuters, focusing on major cities such as Johannesburg and Cape Town. The findings reveal the successes and limitations of current policies in fostering efficient urban mobility and offer recommendations for policy adjustments to improve connectivity and reduce congestion. The article contributes to the global understanding of sustainable urban transport solutions.
