Abstract

The research focuses on the development of smart coatings that provide enhanced corrosion protection for metal surfaces. By incorporating self-healing materials and corrosion inhibitors, we have formulated coatings that autonomously respond to environmental stimuli, prolonging the lifespan of metal structures. This paper discusses the synthesis and application of these smart coatings, illustrating their potential to revolutionize maintenance practices in industries such as automotive and construction. The study also addresses the economic and environmental advantages of implementing smart coatings as a proactive approach to corrosion management.
