Photodegradation of Pharmaceuticals in Water Using Advanced Oxidation Processes
Keywords:

This study investigates the photodegradation of pharmaceutical compounds in aqueous environments using advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). We analyze the effectiveness of various AOPs, including UV/H2O2 and TiO2/UV systems, in breaking down complex pharmaceutical substances into less harmful byproducts. The findings highlight the potential of AOPs to significantly improve water treatment methods by targeting persistent pollutants. Additionally, the research addresses the operational challenges and environmental impacts associated with the deployment of these processes in real-world scenarios, paving the way for more efficient and sustainable water purification technologies.
