Impulse control disorders (ICDs) pose significant challenges in clinical psychology, often leading to severe psychosocial consequences. This study evaluates the efficacy of targeted cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions tailored for treatment-resistant ICD patients. Utilizing a randomized control trial design, we analyzed outcomes from 150 participants across three clinical settings. The findings reveal that personalized CBT approaches substantially improved impulse management and overall psychological well-being compared to standard treatment modalities. Our research highlights the urgent need for adapting therapeutic strategies to meet the unique demands of these patients. By focusing on specific cognitive distortions and emotional regulation techniques, we provide a framework for clinicians to enhance therapeutic outcomes in this challenging population.
