Community Engagement in Higher Education: A Case Study of Service-Learning in Rural India

Abstract

This paper analyzes the implementation and outcomes of service-learning programs in rural areas of India, focusing on community engagement as a tool for educational enrichment. Through collaborations between universities and local communities, the study examines how service-learning initiatives contribute to skill development and societal integration for students. Findings reveal that such programs enhance mutual understanding, foster practical skills, and promote social responsibility among students, while benefiting local communities through shared resources and knowledge exchange.
