Abstract

This study explores the evolving landscape of project management methodologies within higher education institutions, focusing on Agile and traditional approaches. By conducting a comparative analysis of the adoption, implementation, and outcomes of both methodologies, we employed mixed-methods research, incorporating surveys and case studies from ten universities across three continents. The findings indicate that Agile methodologies significantly enhance adaptability and stakeholder engagement, fostering innovation in project outcomes. Conversely, traditional methodologies demonstrate strengths in resource management and risk mitigation. This research contributes to understanding how higher education administrators can strategically align their project management approaches to achieve long-term institutional goals.
